    Research traineeship at the EU institution EMCDDA in Lisbon, Portugal. Policy-oriented research on public health.
  • 2019 - 2020
    Scientific reviewer for PLOS ONE.
  • 2014 - 2019
    Doctor in urban ecology from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. Advisors: Prof. Dr. Ingo Kowarik and Dr. Moritz von der Lippe. Awarded with grants from the Hans Böckler Stiftung and the DAAD.
  • 2017 and 2018
    Invited speaker at Ingo Kowarik’s Master’s course “Perspectives in Ecology" at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.
  • 2013 - 2016
    Co-founder of PANGO Ecosystems, an environmental consulting non-profit to promote sustainable urban solutions in Madrid, Spain.
  • 2011 - 2016
    Research on the dispersal of urban invasive species at the Department of Ecology of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain. Advisor: Dr. Juan Antonio Delgado.
  • 2007 - 2013
    Diplom in biology (equivalent to Master’s / Licenciatura), specialising in environmental sciences and ecology. Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain.

Research interests

  • I have various research interests in topics ranging from urban ecology and ecosystem services to sustainability and climate change. I believe designing creative solutions to environmental and social challenges has the potential to improve the quality of life of millions of people worldwide.
