The Department of Ecology is located at the corner of Rothenburgstrasse and Schmitt-Ott-Strasse. The department is divided into the following subdepartments:

The department is located in three buildings, two of which are listed as protected monuments. Also, the garden is listed as a protected monument and used for scientific research and teaching.
